Attorney-General, Robert McClelland and Minister for Home Affairs, Brendan O’Connor, recently launched the new Criminal Intelligence Fusion Centre within the Australian Crime Commission.

The Fusion Centre will provide in-depth criminal intelligence and analysis and will boost the capability of law enforcement agencies to identify high risk cash flows, patterns of crime and the individuals, businesses and corporate structures that may be involved in criminal enterprises in Australia and overseas. The 2009 Victorian Bushfires Royal Commission’s three Commissioners presented their final report to the Governor of Victoria, Professor David de Kretser AC on the morning of 31 July 2010. The report was then presented to the Premier and tabled in Parliament, making it available to the public.

The final report is split into four volumes, plus a summary;

• Volume II – Fire Preparation, Response and Recovery
• Volume III – Establishment and Operation of the Commission
• Volume IV – The Statements of Lay Witnesses

APCO Australasia is now calling for educational presentations for the 8th Annual APCO Australasia Conference & Exhibition to be held at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre on 21-23 February 2011.
